The English Government made a tax on tea. This tax lowered the price of tea, but this still made the colonists mad. They didn't like how the British were trying to take control over the colonists. The Sons of Liberty organized the Boston Tea Party. They dressed as Native Americans and dumped 92,00 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor.

The French and English fought over land. The English won with the help of the colonists and some Native American tribes. The king of England proclaimed the war was to help protect the colonists, but it wasn´t. It seemed fair that the colonists should help increase the income for Britain.
The Quartering Act forced colonists to house British soldiers. Colonists also had to provide troops with fuel, candles, beer, and transportation. Colonists saw this as a way for the British to take over.
The Stamp Act required colonists to pay a tax on most printed items. This was to help rebuild the money lost for the British during the French and Indian War. Colonists had to buy and place a stamp on any printed item. Many people weren't really mad because they had no say in it.
Charles Townshend, the new British Prime Minister, demanded a small tax on glass, paper, and tea. The Townshend Act rose the price of these items. Townshend hoped the colonists wouldn't notice the taxes, but they did and once again they were angry because they had no input.
On March 5, 1770, a crowd of colonists began to harass British Troops. They taunted them and threw snowballs. The situation got out of hand and the troops soon opened fire. Five colonists died. Most colonists believe it was the British's fault. The citizens called a town meeting and demanded to remove the soldiers and charge them for murder. The British agreed to the demands.
