  • Nathan Bedford Forrest was born on July 13, 1821 in Bedford County, Tennessee. For most of his life he lived in wealth and was a self taught man.
  • Bedford Forrest is always associated with the creation of the KKK and was part of one of the most controversial episodes of Civil War, "Remember Fort Pillow".
  • Nathan Bedford is still remembered to this day due to his creation of the KKK,which killed many freemen, and his actions in the "Fort Pillow Massacre" that killed many troops.
  • Nathan Bedford Forrest had no military education nor training, but was still promoted up the ranks until he was a general officer.
  • Bedford hurt the nation as he was apart of one of the most controversial episodes of the Civil War and was against blacks having rights.
  • Bedford Forrest once killed two killed two men with a pistol and a bowie knife after these two killed his uncle over business disputes.
