Hello, my name is Morgan I am a peasant that works on manors. Manors are the heart of the economy.
I am known as a serf along with most of the other peasants. Serfs have no freedom, but they can not be sold. Serfs are not allowed to leave the manor without the lords permission.
Peasants like me work several days a week. We mostly doing farming and other things on the land. Sometime we have to repair the lord's roads, bridges and fences.
Benefits and celebration
Peasant had benefits too. We are protected by our lord and are guaranteed food, housing and land. Peasants celebrated Easter and Christmas, during this time they had a week off of work. We would dance and play games for fun.
The struggle of being a peasant is that you sleep in a little hut with your family and animals. Also, we work very long hours from sunrise to sundown which is very exhausting. Our diet is very simple it is black bread with vegetables.During the winter times we are very hungry because there was little food.
Downfalls of being a peasant
Peasants went to the chapel and after they gossiped and danced. We believed in fairies and other nature spirits.
