  • African americans had the same situation as women and minorities. White men were angered by the fact that African Americans had jobs and they didn't. So white men were very discriminatory towards African Americans.
  • Many were unemployed and only a few available jobs. Americans wait in long lines to get a job for the day. There is about 8 jobs available in a day, with little pay.
  • As many went unemployed and didn't have enough money to buy a home, many built housing communities out of scrap. Those communities were called hooverville´s. In honor of president hoover as the government wasn't helping people during the great depression.
