  • THE BASTILLE IS OURS!!
  • Go go go! Kill them all! Take everything!
  • Take back the Bastille!
  •     The National Assembly congregates and plans to storm the Bastille. The Bastille represents all the oppression against the 3rd Estate; holding political and noble prisoners. They plan to riot the Bastille, take ammunition and weaponry so they can fight against the government. They rile each other up.
  •     On the morning of July 14, the revolutionaries demanded that the military leader of the Bastille surrender the prison and hand over the gunpowder. As negotiations drug on, the crowd became agitated. Once inside the courtyard, they began to try and break into the main fortress.
  •     The soldiers in the Bastille became scared and fired into the crowd. The fighting had began. The military leader of the Bastille, Governor de Launay, soon realized that the situation was hopeless. He surrendered the fort and the revolutionaries took control.
