- I'm an Epidemiologist my job is to study outbreaks and find out why they happened, and what caused them. Im here to help solve the mystery of the outbreak at GNMH Hospital.
- I'm a microbiologist, I look an organisms under a microscope to determine their identity and other factors pertaining to it. I'm here to help find what is causing this outbreak.
- After conducting multiple tests including gram-staining, we were able to determine the cause of the outbreak. It is a bacteria named staphylococcus.
- This bacteria is transmitted through inhalation, touch, and eating contaminated food. To prevent spreading this bacteria, those infected should stay away from others, and everyone should maintain good hygiene such as hand washing to prevent becoming infected
- The nosocomial outbreak in GNMH hospital was a result of poor sterilization procedures by the hospital, resulting in the bacteria being spread from patient-to-patient via equipment. To prevent another outbreak hospital staff should be sure to properly sterilize equipment.
- Since the illness is bacteria, infected patients will be given antibiotics, and will avoid contact with others until they are no longer contagious.
