  • Carbon fixation consists of CO2 (1 carbon) + RuBP (5 carbon), which equals to 6 carbon. The 6 carbon chain + the rubisco (enzyme) equals 6 3-PGA.
  • In reduction, the 6 3-PGA gets turned into 6 G3P, ATP changes back into ADP, and NADPH to NADP. Essentially, everything is going back one step.
  • Regeneration is when 1 molecule of the G3P gets made into glucose. 5 of the G3P are recycled to make RuBP. The ATP, again, is turned into ADP. However, glucose isn’t made in just one process. The Calvin Cycle needs to happen 6 times in order to make just one glucose.
