  • At the end of the century black americans gained greater rights as citizens. Unfortunately our economics and demographics did not change.
  • Many of us were called "tenant" farmers. We rented the land, tools and supplies and paid rent with a portion of our harvest.
  • I miss my husband and our kids miss their dad. We just want him to come home.
  • African Americans loosing their lives and fighting for their country. The hope of civil rights in their country.
  • Even after serving their county in the war, may black americans were treated horribly. Some were lynched even in their uniforms.
