  • In this scene, George told Lennie to jump into the river, and George quickly regretting his decision to prank Lennie, George now needs to save him for drowning in the lake because he does not know how to swim, this is one of many scenes that Steinback uses to answer the question of true freindship.
  • In this scene is shows how Candy should have shot his dog with  the Luger instead of someone else do it for him.  So this shows how he regrets the decsioun of not taking the life of his own dog, This is one way that John Steinback answer the question of an individuals duty to others
  • In this scene George knows how Lennie feels in this situation with Curley trying to beat him up, so Lennie knew how he felt, he felt scared and did not know what to do in a fight, all he can do is to grab and hold on, or look at George  for help. This is one way that John Steinbeck answwers empathy.
