Ceremonies were celebrated constantly and Aboriginal people were free to express themselves in any way they wanted to. At these ceremonies, there would be dancing in cultural clothing made from buffalo and singing in their own language.
Aboriginal people farmed all useful plants on their land and used them for either food, medicines or for material such as extra warmth in their tents and tools. When plants were harvested, they would use every part of it and valued everything given to them on the land. They also would share what others collected for food and men would hunt buffalo for the tribe to go along with the plants.
Aboriginal people would hunt fish, buffalo, and any other mammals on the land and use every part of the animal for tools, warmth, clothing and food. Aboriginal people also had a belief of respecting animals and would have a ceremony after they would kill the anaimal.
Kids were taken and put in residential schools usually by force and weren't allowed to speak in their own language. They also weren't allowed so practise any cultural ceremonies and traditional clothing. If they didn't follow these rules they were beaten or worse and most kids ended up dying from this.
Since Aboriginal people knew the land better than white people did, they were forced to crop the land and go against one of their beliefs of borrowing from the land instead of using it all. If they didn't plant them, white people would ration their food until they did.
Aboriginal kids were taken from families and forced to go to school and loose all contact with their families. White people also changed their names to Catholic ones and cut their long hair which took away their identity of being an Aboriginal person. These kids were abused and most died cause of living conditions and never got to go home again to their families.
