There once was a beautiful woman named Andromeda. Her father was the king but she was not mean but beautiful and kind.
Andromeda and her family lived in a city by the sea and her and her family were very happy.
Andromeda's mom loved to brag and boast about how beautiful her daughter was. She would even go as far to say that she was the most beautiful child ever to be born.
My daughter is more beautiful than all of you!
One day she went as far as saying that Andromeda was even more beautiful than any of the god's daughters.
Andromeda is more beautiful than the god's daughters!!
Someone had told the daughters of Poseidon what Andromeda's mom had said. They were very upset and were complaining. Poseidon couldn't take it anymore so he sent a flood to the city.
Even after the flood waters receded a monster stayed and would snap at people. The people wanted to know how to get rid of it. The king was told the only way to get rid of it is to sacrifice his beautiful daughter.
