"But it turned out the pig had raided THEIR minibar, too." (109)
The main theme of this book is that no matter how bad a trip went with the family, we will still love each other no matter the outcome.
"I figure I have three basic choices." (217)
The family is going on a road trip. The setting will take place in a car because it's a road trip. Also, they will spend the majority of their time in the car.
The mood of this book is funny because their is a pig that got into their minibar and opened everything from soda cans to bag of chips. It also ate a bar of soap! Consequently, the family had to pay for the damages which cost more than their rooms.
This is suspenseful because the audience wonders if Greg will tell his parents about the key or not? If so, how would his parents react. Later it was revealed that he could tell his parents, leave the key in Rodrick's laundry, or flush it down the toilet and forget about this.
