Ebenezer Scrooge in Christmas present is a mean, stingy old wart. He underpays his employee, Bob Cratchit, who finds it hard to support his family on such meagre pay. Most of all, Scrooge hates Christmas festivity, but that is all about to change when his business partner's ghost, Jacob Marley, and three spirits arrive to convince Scrooge to be kinder.
The first spirit, the spirit of Christmas Past, takes Scrooge to previous scenes in his life. The spirit shows Scrooge his imaginative, yet neglected childhood and a scene from a Christmas party Scrooge's master provided while Scrooge was still an apprentice.
The third and final spirit is of Christmas Future, who shows Scrooge that after death nobody has sympathy for him, even going as far as to pawn his things, and his negligence has caused the Cratchits' frail son Tim to die. All of this blame is pointed at Scrooge.
Scrooge wakes up the next morning on Christmas realising how horrid and stingy he has been. He sends the Cratchits a huge turkey, donates to charity, raises his employee's pay, and goes to his nephew's Christmas feast.
