Let's talk about something that happened years and years and years ago. Something that you nor I nor anyone alive today will remember. Let's talk about when the Europeans came to New France.
When Cabot got back to England, King Henry was just as surprised as Cabot.
This is john Cabot. In 1497, he undertook a explorative journey, commissioned by King Henry VII, to "seeke out, discover, and finde" new lands for England. P.S. There were plenty of rats on his ship. He even brought a hedge-hog! P.P.S. Maybe imade the last part up. But there were rats...
The new land look like?
If that was what Cabot was expecting, he didn't get it-- he got something better. When he arrived, he looked around. Everything seemed normal at fish first, until that is, he looked at the water. It was writhing! When he looked closer, he saw codfish! Dozens and dozens of codfish!
Rumor has it, that when you stuck a pole in the water, there were so many fish that it stood up straight! Anyhoo, I hope you enjoyed my comic. Bye!!!
