As a little boy, Frederick Douglass lived on a plantation down south he and his mom though lived on different plantations, because they got sold to two different owners( Fredrick did not know who his dad was_) . He saw his mom rarely and only knew her for the first few years of his life before she died. He skipped around owners until he came to another plantation, that of one Mr. Covey. Mr. Covey was a hard working man and worked the slaves as hard as he could.
