  • 1862 - The Homestead Act
  • 1863- Denver gets first telegraph
  • 1870 - Ranches become big
  • People were sent out to the west to expand the country.
  • 1877 - Silver Boom begins
  • Denver got the first telegraph in the territory in 1863.
  • 1893 - The Silver Bust
  • The Iliff and Prowers ranches' become the biggest, they get the title "Cattle Kings".
  • 1893 - Women win the vote
  • No fair! We can't vote!
  • Silver had been found and it got really popular fast. People worked for mines or sold supplies for mining.
  • Wow! So much silver!
  • After the Silver Boom, the Silver Bust happened. Instead of there being a lot of silver, there was barely any left. People who were rich because of silver became very poor.
  • Where did all the silver go?!
  • A long time ago, women did not have the right to vote. They promised to clean up Colorado's problems if they got the right to vote.
