  • Many people fought for prohibition. This is because some men came home after drinking abused their wives and children.
  • Prohibition is the banning of alcohol and this became one the the U.S.'s amendments.
  • Government officials argued to create the 18th amendment which banned alcohol
  • Crime lords such as Al Capone made money off of bootlegging. Bootlegging is making alcohol and then selling it.
  • Due to prohibition drinking became more popular
  • government officials made the 21st amendment to end prohibition. This stopped illegal drinking and made alcohol legal.
