  • Exposition: The man sat pleading his case, that he was not crazy and able to tell the story so calmly. How wisely he planned this murder.
  • I'm not crazy I'm not crazy...
  • Conflict: The man watches the vulture eyed man sleep.
  • Rising Action: The man threw the bed on top of the vulture eye and waited until the screaming stopped.
  • Climax: The man cuts up the vutlture eyed man into pieces and puts him under the floor boards.
  • Falling Action: The police come into the house and all seems normal, as the man knows he has fooled them. He then hears a faint heartbeat, that subtly grows louder and louder.
  • Oh, how the night has passed by.
  • Thump
  • Lovely evening we are having.
  • Resolution: The man knows the police must hear it, they are taunting him. He can't take it anymore so he screams, "It is here! Tear up the planks! It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
