  • Curly's Death
  • The Club
  • Holes in the snow
  • Curly did not adapt. She tried to go up to a dog and be friendly but the husky killed her. She went up to a husky and that husky attached her. Then a pack of 30-40 huskies attacked her. In the book it states "There was no warning, only a leap in like a flash, a metallic clip of teeth, a leap out equally swift, and Curly's face was ripped open from eye to jaw."
  • Mercedes throws away water
  • Buck did adapt because he realized that as long as the man in the red sweater has the golf club, He can not get to him and attack him.  The club equals power. As long as the man in the red sweater had the club, the dogs had no chance against him. In the book it states "He had learned his lesson, and in all his after life he had never forgot. That club was a revelation."
  • To heavy of Load
  • Buck did not adapt. He left his little burrow in the snow unattended and Spitz took it over. This lead to Buck and Spitz's first fight. Buck now hates Spitz more than he did before.
  • Bucks new leader
  • This is when Mercedes threw away the water. She did not adapt. You need water to survive especially if you are out in the wild. It may also be hard to find good and clean water. If you don't have water and you are out in the wild, and you can't find any, you will die. You will get dehydrated and die
  • This is when they Mercedes, Hal, and Charles did not know how to roll up the tent correctly. That lead to the sled being heavier. The sled was so heavy that the dogs could not pull it. Then Charles and Hal thought it was because they were lazy so they started to hit the dogs. Then they realized that the sled was to heavy so they got rid of Mercedes clothes and shoes.
  • This is when Buck adapts to his new owner, John Thornton. Buck felt comfortable with john Thornton because he did not want to hurt the dogs, he wanted to help them. He protected all of the dogs.
