  • Winning homes and minds
  • The Americans knew the land. They new where to hide. They also new where and when to attack.
  • Poorly trained
  • General most generals either had British experience or had fought against them. This helped the predict the british moves. Which in turn allowed the Patriots to have spies
  • Outnumbered
  • The Americans had real stakes and emotions. This helped them feel they needed to fight. It also helped the people feel that they would do anything for the country.
  • low funds
  • All the troops had little to no training. They where farmers, blacksmiths, and merchants. this caused open fights to not be easy.
  • There where more redcoats then the Americans. This meant normal fighting would be a loss.  And whenever a regiment would have a lot of troops people would leave to tend to family and farms.
  • The American government could not tax the citizens. this caused the army to be poor. lacking food, water, and ammunition.
