Hey guys! Ready to head into the water cycle with me?
Now I'm a water vapor! this is called evaporation!
I can also transpirate!
Now I have condensated into a cloud! I wonder what's next?
Welcome to Willy the Waterdroplets adventure!
Hi guys! Now I'm raining down onto the flowers! Im precipitation!
Evaporation is the process in which a liquid becomes a gas/vapor because of increased heat from the sun. There is also transpiration, the release of water vapor from leaves of plants into the atmosphere.
Woah there! Now I'm runoff!
Condensation is the process in which a gas vapor in the air becomes a liquid again.
AH! Now I'm groundwater! Heading back to the ocean next!
Look! Im infiltrating into the soil!
Precipitation is the process where water is released from clouds in the form of rain (freezing included), snow, sleet or hail.
Runoff is water from rain, snowmelt, or other sources that flows over land surfaces.
Infiltration is when precipitation or water soaks into soils and moves through cracks. Groundwater is some part of the precipitation that lands on the ground surface and infiltrates into the subsurface.
