  • King Louis XVI calls the estates general (meeting between 3 estates where each state has 1 vote)
  • The 3rd estate wanted to set up a constitution but was outvoted 2-1 by the 1st and 2nd estate
  • The National Assembly left the court house to discuss the Tennis Court Oath
  • Once they were informed that the king denied their oath and the army would step in they stormed the Bastille. Where they let prisoners free and stole weapons
  • People take over and receive the Declaration of Rights of man. This proclaimed freedom of speech and press. Also equal rights for men and no tax exemptions.

  • Woman wanted declaration and King Louis XVI refused. So a group of armed woman march on Versailles palace and force the king to accept.
