  • She's right sir, in the Eighth Amendment it states fines for crimes must be set at a fair price.

  • The Seventh Amendment states that if someone is suing you for for over $20 then you can ask a jury to decide your case. In this scene, the woman is being sued for $21 which is over $20 so she wants a jury to decide her case which she can because her Seventh Amendment says that she can.
  • Amendment 10
  • sir that's against my Tenth Amendment.
  • The Eighth Amendment states that fines for crimes must be set at a fair price. In this scene, she's being fined for swearing and the fine is $55 but that's such a high fine for swearing and it's not a fair price. He's going against her Eighth Amendment and she reminds him of that.
  • The Ninth Amendment states that the government cannot take away any of our daily rights and freedoms. In this scene, the government officer is going to take away the life of this innocent little boy which is apart of his daily right of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness and it's going to be taken away by the government. He cannot do that because that's violating is Ninth Amendment.
  • The Tenth Amendment states that it's supposed to protect the power of state and local governments. In this scene, a government officer is going to go take the power from the local government but they cannot do that because of the Tenth Amendment and federalism which is a part of the Tenth Amendment.
