  • Hello Class!Today we will learn about compounds and elements
  • An Element is a material made from one type of atom
  • One example is Nitrogen, it's chemical symbol is N
  • A compound is a pure substance composed of two or more different elements that are chemically bonded
  • One example is Water. The chemical symbol is H2O. H stands for Hydrogen, the two stands for 2 hydrogen atoms, and the O stands for Oxygen.
  • One example of an element and molecule is C2. C stands for Carbon and two stands for 2 carbon atoms
  • A molecule is a group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds
  • An example for that would be CH4. C equals Carbon. H equals Hydrogen. Four equals four hydrogen molecules 
  • Another type of molecule is a compound and molecule
  • That is it for today class. See you tomorrow.
