  • Zeus and Prometheus have an encounter that includes Prometheus tricking Zeus making him angry. Zeus tells Prometheus to know his place, and to expect consequences from the mighty God.
  • "Prometheus, you will have treated me with the respect that I deserve!"
  • "Father of God's and men!"
  • Zeus and Prometheus
  • Prometheus gave fire to man. He believes it will benefit them, unlike what Zeus believes. The people are happy about it when Prometheus goes back to inform them.
  • "And you have taught them to read the future through dreams, oracle, bird signs in a flame of the blazing fire."
  • Prometheus and men gets fire
  • Zeus then takes fire away from Prometheus and his men as a consequence from Prometheus' disrespect. When Zeus returns to Olympus, he removed all sources of existing fire from the Earth.
  • "I forbid mortal men the use of fire!"
  • Zeus bans fire
  • "Zeus. if you are nothing more than the son of Cronus, the I fear that I have only helped one Tyrant replace another!"
  • Once fire was taken, Prometheus was then sentenced to be  chained to Mount Caucasus and torched by Zeus with storm winds, lightning and thunderbolts. This was his consequence due to Prometheus and his people using fire.
  • "The Olympians are quietly judging you, and, if you continue to be unjust, they will unite and revolt against you."
  • "There, he will bind you with inescapable bronze chains and shackle you with bronze spikes to a cliff high on Mount Caucasus" 
  • Zeus punishes Prometheus
  • As the quote states, the Eagle feasted upon his liver repeatedly, day after day, for 30,000 years. Prometheus was torched for the mortal men and agreed to his consequences. Though, he missed his family dearly.
  • "My great winged, shining eagle, Ravenous for the taste of meant, will swoop down from the heights of Mount Caucasus.He will savagely tear into your flesh, and once again he will feast upon your liver!"
  • Prometheus gets freed
  • "Now, my mother has told me that you will marry a goddess who's son will be greater than his father!"
  • After the 30,000 years, Zeus needed to know the secret Prometheus was hiding, this being about the child of his wife. Since he told him, Zeus permitted Heracles to kill the ravaging eagle and to free Prometheus from his bonds. Then there was a great flood that Zeus sent to destroy the entire human race.
