Storyboard Text

  • Offred, (main character) appears in the camera with a worried look. There is soft piano music playing in the background. She begins to talk about the problems with Gilead, with a strong focus on the rebellions and unrest the laws have caused.
  • Offred talks about how they took away her husband and her daughter. Daughter (probably my sister) is seen running away and 'never to be seen again'. While she is running there is dramatic music then when she leaves there is sad music. Daughter is frantic.
  • Refers to theme. Tells about how taking away rights is making it worse. Shows  images of destrcution in the city, and the wall which punishes anyone who has free will. Special effects on the images such as expolsions and destruction.
  • Happiness and Compliance
  • Women in Gilead
  • Years Gilead has been around
  • Many different graphs appear on the scene with a voiceover for explanantion. Gives a visual graphic for the affects of the society on women.
  • Offred lists the injustices and how people are tired of it. Basically government policies have torn the country apart making it worse. There is no music and the lighting goes directly onto Offred.
  • An advertisement appears on the screen calling for help. Formatted in a typical TV commercial format in order to "sell" the idea of free will and rebellion against the government. TV commercial voice special effects.
