Storyboard Text

  • I am King Edward III and I want more land for this kingdom.
  • The decline of feudalism by Jesus Rosas
  • I will keep this land for my kingdom.
  • I am king Philip VI of France and I declare this as my land for my nation, not yours!
  • No it is not yours. This is my land.
  • Feudalism was the political, social, and economic order that society had during the middle ages that was highly declined after the hundred years' war.
  • I declare war on the English.
  • I declare war on you as well.
  • For long, the English kings had claimed France's land as their own. Therefore King Edward III continued to do the same in his time of rulling.
  • Why did you do this?
  • I don't need you anymore.
  • In 1337 king Philip VI of France declared that Edward's land was no longer part of England and claimed it as part of his own kingdom. Unfortunately King Edward wasn't so happy with this and got really upset.
  • Welcome king
  • This conflict between France and England started a great war that lasted around 100 years until France finally defeated England in 1453 and led the English out of France.
  • Feudalism was declined after the war because the nobles had lost power because they were useless for kings since, the kings had an army for themselves and the nobles' job was to recruit knights. The peasants took power away from lords as well since they did not feel loyalty towards them any more after the war.
  • The monarchy/kings from both sides of the war were able to obtain power by collecting taxes during the war. Furthermore they were able to maintain power by raising professional armies to combat for them.
