  • Tybalt: Uncle, this is a Montague, our foe, A villain, that is hither come in spite to scorn at our solemnity this night. Tis he, the villain Romeo.
  • Lord Capulet: Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone.
  • Translation: Tybalt is saying that Romeo is here let me take him on, Lord Capulet is telling Tybalt to calm down, let Romeo be.
  • Romeo: O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! IT seems she hangs upon the cheek of night As a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear- Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!
  • Translation: Romeo is saying that Juliet is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, he fell for her beauty.
  • Juliet: Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.
  • Romeo: Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?
  • Translation: Romeo and Juliet are being lovey dovey and getting closer to each other.
  • Translation: Romeo and Juliet are star crossed lovers.
  • Nurse: His name is Romeo, and a Montague, The only son of your great enemy.
  • Juliet: My only love sprung from my only hate!
  • Translation: Juliet is calling for Romeo.
  • Juliet: O Romeo. Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
  • Translation: Juliet is trying to say good bye to Romeo but Romeo doesn't want to leave so soon.
  • Juliet: A thousand times good night!
  • Romeo: A thousand times the worse, to want thy light!
