Storyboard Text

  • There lived two Brothers who were not like other men, nor yet like those Mighty Ones. The names of them were Prometheus, the eldest, and Epimethius, the youngest.
  • No, indeed! If men had fire, they might become stronger than ourselves!
  • It is better for them to be poor and ignorant so that we Mighty Ones can be happy.
  • If they had fire, they could warm themselves and cook their food. They can't survive without it.
  • Upon seeing the bad circumstances of mankind, Prometheus asked the king, Jupiter, for fire.
  • But Prometheus went behind Jupiter's back and did it anyways, teaching them the power of fire, how to defend themselves, and how to live.
  • This angered Jupiter, and so he decided upon a punishment. He created a beautiful woman named Pandora, as she was given many gifts by the gods. She was given a box and sent down to Epimethius and Prometheus.
  • Mercury brought her to the two brothers. Epimethius fell in love with her and took her as his wife.
  • She shall be my wife.
  • Epimethius, here is a beautiful woman, whom Jupiter has sent to you to be your wife.
  • One day, Pandora decided to open the box that she had been warned to not open.
  • Who cares what Athena thinks? She's just jealous of my beauty.
  • Pandora opened the box and suddenly, dozens of horrible creatures crawled out and began to wreak havoc on all mankind. This was Jupiter's punishment for Prometheus.  To make all mankind miserable.
