Storyboard Text
Hey Sarí! Are you headed to math class? I'll walk with you.
Yeah me too.
Thanks Alex, I hope we do something fun in math today.
Good morning students! Today I would like you solve this problem on the board, then pair up and share your reasoning with a partner.
Today we will be using standard 3, check the chalkboard to for the problem and the standard.
Show that two triangles are similar using the 3 triangle theorems.
PS.3 Construct Viable Arguments and Critique the reasoning of others.
Hmm. I remember triangle theorem SSS from yesterday. I'll use that one to solve the problem.
The easiest way to do this would be to compare the angles in the AA theorem.
Show that two triangles are similar using the 3 triangle theorems.
PS.3 Construct Viable Arguments and Critique the reasoning of others.
I used theorem SSS to prove that the triangles are similar.
I made and compared the ratios of the sides of the triangles.
PS.3 Construct Viable Arguments and Critique the reasoning of others.
Show that two triangles are similar using the 3 triangle theorems.
If the angles are the same then it doesn't matter the lengths of the sides.
PS.3 Construct Viable Arguments and Critique the reasoning of others.
Show that two triangles are similar using the 3 triangle theorems.
I don't agree. I used the AA theorem to prove the triangles are similar.
Surprise! You both are right! There is more than one way to solve this proof.
NO WAY!
