This is me two months ago. I had plans: big plans. I was going to spend March Break in Florida, go to CAIS rugby in BC, and take a year to travel the world via sail boat.
Little did I know, those plans were about to change. Very fast. No more beach sunsets, intense rugby games, or even looking out at the vast ocean before me. I WAS TRAPPED.
So, I made new plans. I hung out with friends, went to restaurants and spent time outside.
We should go for a run after we eat!
Yes! It's gorgeous outside...
But plans change.
Stay home, keep two meters apart, wash your hands... and most importantly, everything is CANCELLED!
It was then that I began to learn how to adapt. I took a deep breath (or maybe a lot of deep breaths), and figured out a way to stay positive, spread love, and deepen my relationship with myself.
So, I worked out, went on long runs, spent invaluable time with family, got ahead in school, read great books, volunteered at a local vegan restaurant, did yoga with my aunt, and dreamt of changing the world. I had never had so much time to just be. The world was my oyster. Other opportunities would come, but none like this. I was grateful for quarantine. Thank you COVID-19:)
