  • A meeting with the Estates-General and the third estate to discuss the financial crisis. This moves towards democracy because they find iteasier to discuss as a republic.
  • The March on Versailles
  • Bread prices too high!!!
  • Someone wants to talk, my lord!!!
  • During the Tennis Court Oath, the third estate sooncalled themselves the "National Assembly". This also moves towards a democracy because the people are arguing about the financial crisis and soon find outthat it is helpful to work as a team and debate things.
  • The Reign of Terror
  • On July 14th, 1789, a raid took place at the Bastilleprison by people of the third estate wanting weaponsto prepare for a revolution. This moves France towards a democracy once the third-estate wins.
  • The Rise of Napoleon
  • FIRE!
  • The march on Versailles was a raid from women to the king to ask that the bread prices to go down. The king promised to move the palace to Paris away from Versailles. This moves towards a democracy because the king didn't want harm from the women.
  • The reign of terror was a horrific era of death and gore. Robespierre gathered every person who he thought would be suspicious or did something bad even if it was small. He punished them with the guillotine which decapitated them.
  • Napoleon was a leader that had great military success. He then was crowned emperor of France on May 18, 1804. Napoleon found out he liked power. Therefore, this leads towards a monarchy.
