Perceval meets with an old man and is told to keep quiet to protect himself from embarrassment. Perceval is also told that he can stay at the old man's place.
The castle slowly comes into view and Perceval makes his way into its gates.
The Three Items
The young man saw the maids’ procession and did not dare to ask a question
Perceval makes it into the castle and finds the man, wounded and near-death, waiting for him.
Perceval enjoyed a feast laid before the king.
Three servants come out with a candelabra, a white lance with a blood-stained tip, and a golden goblet. Perceval wanted to know what the goblet was, but refrained from asking, due to the king's advice
The king died, and Perceval came across this young maiden, mourning over those lost. She was Perceval's cousin, and the king was in fact, his uncle. If he had just questioned any of the items, he would have been saved.
