  • On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white person.
  • You're under arrest for not giving up your seat to a white person!
  • After Rosa Parks was arrested, an event called the Montgomery Bus Boycott began where "colored" people were fighting for equal rights.
  • WE WANT EQUAL RIGHTS!
  • WE WANT EQUAL RIGHTS!!!
  • Rosa Parks was eventually released from jail on bail.
  • POLICE STATION
  • You're free to go.
  • After Rosa Parks was bailed from being jailed she and many other "colored" citizens fought for equal rights and for everyone to be treated fairly.
  • Sadly, at the age of 92, Rosa Parks died of natural causes in her apartment on the east side of Detroit. It was a sad day to see a civil rights activist go.
  • Even though Rosa Parks has passed, the work that she did in helping make everyone equal and fair lives on to this day.
