We must go to Canterbury. Want to go watch Sir Kay's tournament?
King Uther ruled over Britain and was feared by all men. He was in love with Igraine of Cornwall but she did not feel the same way for him. Merlin, a magician, made a deal with Uther. In exchange for Igraine's love, Merlin would recieve their first born.
Pretty sure this is impossible...
King Uther and Igraine married and fell in love, as Merlin had promised. The time came that they had their first born son and Uther had to keep his promise as well. The King and Queen handed their son over to Merlin and not long after, Uther fell sick and died.
I gotta help my brother!
Years past and Arthur grew to be skilled in knightly exercises. Merlin went to Archbishop of Canterbury and advised him to call together all the chief men in London and it will be clear who the lawful king of this land is. So the Archbishop did so.
Our new King!!
Men showed up from all over to attempt drawing the sword from the stone. No man doubted himself beforehand, but no man was able to succeed. Meanwhile, Sir Ector, his son Sir Kay, and Arthur traveled to London for Sir Kay's joust.
On their way to Sir Kay's battle, Kay looked and saw that his sword had been left behind. Arthur went back to fetch it for him, but the house was locked. He could not leave Kay to be embarrassed. So with no one to see his adventure, he drew the sword from the stone and rode after his brother.
Arthur rode up to the tournament with the sword and was rightfully made King in front of everyone.
