  • 1040-1055: Conquer of Baghdad
  • 1067-1071: Battle of Manzikurt
  • 1095-1099: First Crusades
  • The schism means the split of the Christian Church into the Roman Catholic centered in the papacy in Rome, and Greek Orthodox centered in the Byzantine capital of Constantinople. In addition, Turks migrate from central Asia to Southwest Asia, conquer Persia, and invade Armenia and Iraq, finally capturing Baghdad, the Abbasid capital city. This was an important event since they split and centered on their religion also captured Baghdad.
  • 1054: Schism of the Christian Church and Roman Catholic
  • Turks attack the Byzantine region in Asia Minor.Turkic powers take Jerusalem from the Fatimid administration of North Africa. Turkic powers defeat Byzantine powers at the battle of Manzikert and found the Sultanate of Rum in Asia Minor. This was an important event since they gained power also beat the Byzantine's.
  • 1067-1070: Crusades major events
  • The first crusade was affected by a letter Emperor Alexius (of the Byzantine empire) wrote to Pope Urban II pleading for help as their land was under threat from the Seljuk Turks. Emperor Alexius asked for warriors. However, Pope Urban II had greater aspirations and even hoped to liberate the holy city of Jerusalem. The success of the first crusade: Although the first crusade was deemed a success, Alexius had not expected the great number of crusaders and so the crusaders often had a hard time getting food and supplies and largely got supplies from Christian areas. This was an important event since it was kinda a new start for the crusaders also won many wars but had too many crusaders.
  • 1071: Turks Victory
  • Schism (splits) of the Christian church into the roman catholic centered in the papacy in Rome, and Greek Orthodox centered in the Byzantine capital of Constantinople. This was a vital occasion since this division depended over the centuries through religious clashes and wars.
  • Turks invade Byzantine territory in Asia Minor (today's Turkey); Turkic forces take Jerusalem from the Fatimid dynasty of North Africa. It was important event because a Foreign country invaded which marks the start of something new.
