  • Were going to be better than Roanoke.
  • December of 1606
  • May 14, 1607
  • Were finally here!
  • May 14, 1607
  • Lets make this our colony and call it Jamestown.
  • 144 Colonists left for the Americas to start a new colony. They were sent by the Virginia Company of London.
  • January 1608
  • 104 Colonists make it to the new world out of the 144 that initially left Europe. They landed up the James River.
  • later in 1608
  • Were going to survive and I know how were going to do it.
  • The Colonists established Jamestown where there shipped landed on the same day that they landed.
  • Around October 1608
  • Of the 104 colonists that made it to Jamestown only 38 colonists are still alive.
  • John Smith became the governor of Jamestown and enforced strict policies to help the colony survive. This made some of the colonists angry but it was for the better.
  • More colonists and supplies arrive in Jamestown from Europe. This helps the colony survive.
  • We finally made it to the new world. Maybe we will find gold!
