Storyboard Text

  • At Mr.Kohli's class, the loudspeaker said, "Aisha Hadad please go to the principal's office."
  • As she headed down, she saw other students whispering about her.
  • OMG I heard they are suspending her because of bullying someone.
  • NO WAY! Shes so nice though!
  • Apparently, other students found her clothing as a threa and even pushed her to be suspended.
  • I regret to inform you that you have been suspended because of your hijab. Other students see it distracting and even as a threat.
  • That's not fair! My clothing isn't a distraction to other students, can't I at least confer with someone about this?
  • Aisha was worried about what she had done but she couldn't think of anything to get her in trouble.
  • Aisha hurried home to tell her mother about her suspension, thinking that it was all her fault.
  • Aisha frantically made her way down to the office avoiding everyone's piercing gaze.
  • Throughout the car ride, Aisha's mom explained that it was her right to wear the hijab and she could of had her there,
  • Mr. Smith gave her two options to either take off her hijab or keep it on have the suspension on her permanent record.
  • Aisha marched to the office and immediately confronted on what her rights were.
  • You can't suspend me for wearing my hijab and I also had the right to a parent.
  • Through tears, she managed to get the point across that other students saw her hijab as a threat and distraction.
  • When they arrived at the school, Aisha felt furious that she wasn't aware of this today and no one had given hr a chance.
  • By standing up for her rights, Aisha went back to school the next day and got it off her record.
  • I'm so sorry, i will fix this right way!
