- The Hadleys have bought a smart home. The smart home includes a nursery that displays a veldt.
- falling action
- The dad gets concerned that this nursery is displaying more graphic scenes than what he would like for his 10 year olds. They are also constantly hearing screams . The Nursery is showing a realistic veldt with lions that tried to attack the parents. This makes the dad turn the whole house off. This makes the kids devastated.
- resolution
- Lydia feels bad for the kids. She finally convinces George to turn the nursery back on. The kids are ecstatic. While the kids have their last few moments with their room the parents go to change. Suddenly the kids yell for the parents to come. The parents rush to the nursery and get locked in by their own kids with the lions.
- Theme
- The parents get eaten by the lions. The psychologist comes in looking for the Hadley's but they are nowhere to be found
- The psychologist find the children in the nursery. The children are totally unbothered and having a picnic. Mean while in the back ground their parents are getting eaten by lions.
- The theme of the veldt is that becoming too dependent on technology can only hurt humans. It can make them not self reliant and spoil them which can only get worse over time
