Okay class! Today is the day! We get to learn about maturation!
As you can see, the first stage of the cell cycle is INTERPHASE. It's broken up into three parts.
G1Cell Growth SDNA Replication G2Prepare for Cell Division Form Organelles
In PROPHASE, the first stage of mitosis, the genetic material condenses, and we can see the chromosomes!
During METAPHASE, the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
In ANAPHASE, the chromosomes separate and move to opposite sides of the cell
The last stage is TELOPHASE, where the chromosomes spread out and form two separate cells.
