Mahmoud deserted his home country to find a better life. Syria had been bombed and destruction was inevitable. Mahmoud left for Syria with his family on the start of a great odyssey.
Mahmoud and his family immigrated to Turkey so they could escape destruction and find a safe refuge. The Bisharas' were elated when they finally made it out of Syria, but their journey had just begun.
In spite of having made it into Turkey, the Bisharas were still not safe. They were out in the open and oblivious to how incoherently and insensibly they walked about.
Mahmoud and his family wouldn't settle until they got to Lesbos. They were listless and stagnant but after days of waiting and false alarms, they found a refugee boat by a haphazard.
The boat was full and the journey was but the passengers showed no bristled behavior and were actually elated to be on their way. The happiness was short lived and after a while the boat crashed into a rock, leaving the passengers submerged in water.
Mahmoud and his family found each other only to realize that their life jackets were fake. This was a violation of the Bishara's' trust and they were left distraught in the middle of a tragedy.
