A group of pigs sat in their pen thinking of ways to help others. They took out a pen and wrote down their ideas.
The sow and her piglets decided that it would be kind to help others prepare for winter. They began to sow extra crops.
The pigs were very excited to help others in need. They asked the dog to help. The dog let out a loud bark and said,
I would rather eat bark off a tree then give up my afternoon to grow food for others.
It started to get very cold outside. The wind was cool and the pigs felt a nip in the air. Even though the piglets wanted to play and wind up their new snake toys they continued to work hard.
This is hard work but it feels good to do good things for others.
When it was time to harvest their extra crops, they asked the bass in the pond to help.
We are fish. We cannot farm. Plus, we are too busy playing our bass guitars. We would rather do something for ourselves.
When the pigs got home from harvesting they were very tired. The piglets sat down and played with their favorite toy. It was a snake that shed its' scales. Before they went to bed, the sow stood on her scale and was happy to see that she lost some weight.
It is important to help others even if there are other fun things to do. We worked hard and I am healthier now.
