The Quartering Act was established in 1765. The Quartering Act is when Britain forced the colonists to provide food, water, and shelter to British soldiers. The Quartering Act made the colonists angry.
The Boston Tea Party

The French and Indian war left Britain with huge debts. They thought that they should tax the colonists to help pay off the debts. Britain taxed everyday items.
The Intolerable Acts
In Boston, colonists were very angry. They got into brawls with soldiers. On March 5, 1770, a group of colonists started calling some soldier mean names. The captain told the soldiers to not fire, but one soldier thought he said "Fire!" Five people died from the incident.
Britain made the colonists pay taxes on tea. The colonists drink tea every day. The colonists were really angry. To protest, some men dressed as native Americans and went onto the British ship. Then they dumped all of their tea off the boat into the water.
After the Boston tea party Parliament decided to punish the colonists by passing the Intolerable Acts. These acts included The Boston Port Act, The Stamp Act, and The Quartering Act. The Boston Port Act closed the Boston Harbor. Many workers lost their jobs. It was a very harsh time for the colonists.
