  • Information to Get You Started: Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. Now, because of that curse, Stanley has been sent to a boys' detention center, for stealing. There, he meets other boys, and he is friends with them. Throughout his stay, he learns that he's not just building character by building, but that he's actually looking for something.
  • Stanley's First Day Digging
  • At least I finished my... h-hole. *sighs*
  • Others at Camp
  • Use this information to predict different outcomes throughout the story.
  • At the Warden's Office
  • I did it, and it's true because there's a lot of seeds in my hole.
  • So, did Stanley do it or not?!
  • As Stanley walked up to the camp, it was time to start digging. Because it was his first time, Stanley struggled a lot. After, when he finished, he was exhausted, but proud of himself.
  • Teaching Zero
  • Stanley, teach me how to read and write, and I'll help you dig your hole.
  • Stanley saw that there were many other boys in his group: Armpit, X-Ray, Zero, Magnet, and Zig Zag. He became friends with all of them instantly.
  • Caught Red-Handed
  • NO DEALS! People dig their OWN holes.
  • Stanley had accused himself of taking the sack of sunflower seeds and eating them, while Mr. Sir doesn't think that he did this, and that he is covering up for someone.
  • He did not.
  • Stanley and Zero make a deal: Zero will help Stanley dig his hole every day if Stanley helps him learn to read and write.
  • Okay!
  • The Warden has heard them make their deal! She then gets super furious, and doesn't tolerate them to have their deal anymore!
  • O-Oh... Sorry m-miss...
