  • Setting:  LA, California Plot: Blade  lives  his life in misery with a high and drunk dad, but finds refuge in his love for music Genre: Realistic Fiction Conflict: Blade wants  to find love Main Characters: Blade - High  school senior with a musical interest Chapel - Blade's girlfriend Storm - Blade's older sister who looks up to their father, a once famous rock star,  Rutherford Morrison Rutherford - Blade's father who is constantly drunk and high and once a famous and successful rock star
  • "Who am I? I am the wretched son of a poor rich man." - Blade
  • "I'm not even mad. I'm just done. Being here. Being a Morrison." - Blade
  • I LOVE ROCK 'N' ROLL!
  • Rutherford ruins Blade's salutatorian speech by riding into the graduation on a motorcycle screaming:
  • "I want nothing more than to wipe this Morrison stench from my body. Clean its muddy glum from my existence. I'm not like any of you." - Blade
  • You don't want to be a Morrison, little brother? Well here's the  kicker, you're not. You never were one of us, and you never will be... You're adopted!
  • After discovering that Rutherford is not Blade's real father and that Chapel was cheating on him, Blade decides to go on a trip to Ghana to find his birth mother.
  • Blade finds his mother,  and he begins to feel truly happy
  • "'You have finally met your mother. How do you feel?' ' Full. Happy for once.'" - Joy & Blade
  • I DECLARE!
  • The people from the village march up to the top of a hill, and Blade starts singing after  figuring out what love really is
