In the beginning of chapter 3 it talks about how the agribusinesses are putting ammonium nitrate into the farmers fertilizer. This shows how it changed farming from being an ecological loop into making it work like a factory of some sort. It also talks about how hybrid corn is causing nitrogen pollution.
In the middle of chapter 3 it talks about how buyers of corn spend less than the farmers producing the corn. It also goes on about how the agribusinesses are making all the money off the corn and how the farmers don't get one bit of it any of the money that is made.
In the end it explains how all the corn the farmers made where put on the market for sale. It also talks about how lowering the corn prices could drive farmers out of business. The last thing it talks about is how agribusinesses will lower corn-sweetened products rather than fruits and vegetables.
