They made King Kalakaua allow a new administration made of league members, who showed King Kalakaua their constitution for him to sign at the 'Iolani Palace.
King Kalakaua disagreed and protested against their constitution but he ended up signing the document.
This constitution was named the Bayonet Constitution because it was rumored that he had a bayonet held against his head which they used to force him to sign it.
