  • Purchase Decision
  • Joe starts to browse the Internet looking for some options, when he is faced with an advertisement for the new Mac Book. Upon seeing the ad, he remembers that his friend, Ryan, had bought one a week earlier and raved about his purchase.
  • Post Purchase
  • This new computer is great!!
  • Though after some more searching, he also discovers the Chrome Book as another option. This one is less expensive, while also being of high quality. Joe must consider his options and make a decision.
  • The End
  • Wow this computer is much better than the one I have now
  • At the store, Joe tries both computers to evaluate which one he likes better. In the end, he is more inclined to buy the Mac Book, even though it is more expensive. He believes this extra cost will be worth it in the end as he makes his purchase
  • Mac Book
  • It's a bit more expensive than the Chrome Book, but worth the extra. I think I should buy this one.
  • It is 3 days later and Joe loves his Mac Book. He is able to participate in Google Meets and complete online assignments with ease. The fear of his computer crashing has been completely eliminated.
  • Joe is finally able to sleep early at night, as he now has all of this time free that he used to spend struggling with computer issues. He can conclude that his purchase was entirely worth it, and does not feel even the slightest bit of cognitive dissonance.
