We want freedom !
The Irish Potato Famine was a disease that got on most potatoes potatoes and left people with no food and some died of hunger. They also moved for freedom.
The Irish immigrants had to move on ships filled with a whole bunch of other people.
Most of them settle in New York and they often crowded into small homes that were intended for single families living in poor and cramped spaces.
Woman became chambermaids and cooks. Other men became farmers, some helped build railroads and bridges.
Their jobs weren't very good jobs. They had jobs that were dangerous and they got paid very little money.
