Walter Mcmillan is a death row prisoner. Brian Stevenson is a lawyer that Walter hired to get him out. Walters and Stevenson's first meeting was in 1988 in the death conference room.

Walter got put in a nursing home because of his sickness. Walter died on september 11, 2013. At Walter's funeral, everyone was there and was celebrating Walter's life. Walter's time on death row and his racial discrimination got EJI a lot of publicity.
